ASIN Conversion Details

Our tools can convert ISBN-13s to ASINs. However, please be aware of the following:

We strive to provide the most accurate ASIN conversions possible, but these factors are outside of our direct control.

What is the difference between an ASIN and an ISBN-10? While both are 10-character identifiers, an ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) is Amazon's proprietary system for identifying products within its marketplace. An ISBN-10 (International Standard Book Number) is a globally recognized identifier specifically for books. If a book has an ISBN-10, that ISBN-10 is also its ASIN on Amazon; this conversion is direct and reliable. However, not all ASINs are ISBN-10s (e.g., for products other than books), and many books on Amazon (especially those published after 2007 or Kindle-exclusive versions) will have an ASIN that is different from their ISBN-13 and will not have an ISBN-10. These non ISBN based ASINs are where we have to use other methods to convert the ISBN-13 to ASIN which are not 100% reliable.
